Ingredients
- Ribeye Steak (1-1/2 inches thick)
- Avocado Oil
- Pink Himalayan Salt
- Black Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 500 deg F
- Place pan in oven while pre-heating
- Once oven is heated fully remove pan and place on stove top on high (may need to adjust lower)
- once pan is smoking, sear steak without moving 30 seconds on each side
- move to oven and bake for 2 minutes on each side for medium rare or 3 minutes on each side for medium. (needs more testing but based on thickness)
- ribeyes from Costco were not quite done enough for Eric at 3 minutes a side
- Let rest for 5 minutes
Notes
Oven set to bake (not convection). Pan used was carbon steel, also could use cast iron, or as last resort stainless steel. Carbon steel and cast iron pans sear best.
