Swedish Meatballs – Using frozen meatballs

Ingredients

  • Frozen meatballs or make your own

  • 2-1/2 cups of beef stock

  • 1/2 tsp Allspice

  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Salt (to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

  • 4 Tbsp Butter

  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 2 cups Heavy Cream (divided in 2)

  • 1/4 cup flour or alternate for thickening

Directions

  • Set Instant Pot to Saute and add Beef Stock (recommend going a little richer on stock mixture if using frozen meatballs)
  • Add Allspice, Nutmeg, Garlic Powder, Salt, Pepper.
  • Add Butter, Dijon Mustard, Worcestershire, and mix well.
  • Add 1 cup of heavy cream and continue stirring.
  • Turn off Instant Pot and add meatballs to sauce. Pressure cook for 4 minutes and allow natural release for 6 minutes.
  • Mix flour or thickening agent with remaining cup of cream.
  • Once meatballs have natural released for 6 minutes, open vent, remove meatballs and place in covered container.
  • Add Flour and Cream mixture to sauce in instant pot and set to Saute, stirring constantly until thickened to desired consistency.
  • Add meatballs back into sauce and serve.
